Alastair Fields

Alastair Fields, 53, of Matewan, WV formerly of Peter Fork; McCarr, KY passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at his home in the loving care of his mother and other family following a lingering illness.  Born October 8, 1970 in Williamson, WV, he was the son of LaSandra Fields Haynes of Matewan, WV.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hassell and Erie Fields.

Alastair loved people and loved to laugh.  He enjoyed music, dancing, and going to church.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a sister, Carmelita Haynes of McCarr, KY, a special aunt, Gwen New (Roy Fields) of Matewan, WV, aunt, Yvonne (Jerry) Mounts of Myrtle Beach, SC, uncle, Carl Edward (Bessie) Fields of Blackberry, KY, and special friends, Lois Mahon and Deane New both of Matewan, WV.  Alastair had a special friend in Kim Dotson of Freeburn, KY who passed away a few days after him.  Also surviving is a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.  Cremation will take place following the visitation.
