Alfred Ray Hayton, 68, of Graysville, TN formerly of North Matewan, WV passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Born September 10, 1956 in Williamson, WV, he was the son of the late James and Mary Jane Presley Hayton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Silvey, Janet Hayton, and Linda Maynard, and brothers, Daryl Hayton and Jimmy Hayton.
Alfred was a 1974 graduate of Matewan High School. He worked many years and retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of almost 50 years, Wanda Hayton, and his daughter, Dawn Hayton. He also leaves behind a host of loving family and friends.
He lived life to the fullest with his positive outlook on life and his sense of humor. In recent years, he moved to be closer to his daughter, which was the apple of his eye. He enjoyed being around her and all her animals.
A simple service celebrating Alfred’s life will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
