Alice "Big Sis" Holt

Alice “Big Sis” Holt, 71, of North Matewan, WV passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Trinity of Mingo Healthcare Center in Williamson, WV.  Born October 5, 1950 at North Matewan, WV, she was the daughter of the late Glen Holt Sr. and Sammie Hendricks Holt.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Cline and Virginia Ann "Jennie" Holt; and two nephews, Richie Holt and Jacob Holt.

Alice worked in central purchasing at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY and retired after 50 years of dedicated service.  She was a member of the Varney Church of God.  Alice was devoted to her family and she was well loved.  She always had smile and kind word for everyone.

Survivors include her brothers, Glenn (Rhonda) Holt and Sam (Cindy) Holt of North Matewan, WV; her sister, Sara Stell of Freeburn, KY; two nephews, Josh (Kim) Holt of Hernshaw, WV and Zack Holt of Morgantown, WV; several great nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church, 412 St. Hwy 292 East, Belfry (Leckieville), KY  41514, with Rev. Gary “Bo” Starr and Rev. Gary Starr officiating.  Burial will follow in the Buskirk Cemetery at Buskirk, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Tuesday evening at the Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church.
