Obituary

Allene Evelyn Smith, 89, of Rawl, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from the Tug Valley ARH Skilled Nursing Facility in South Williamson, KY.  Born April 26, 1932 at Rawl, WV, she was the daughter of the late Orbie Thomas Hardin and Carrie Wood Hardin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Vincent Smith, brothers, Russell Hardin, Homer Hardin, Harold Hardin, Cecil Hardin, Joe Hardin, Jimmie Hardin, and John William "Bill" Hardin.

Allene will always be remembered for her love and generosity as well as her fabulous cooking, quick wit, and humor.  She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, church singer, caretaker, and very special individual in the lives of many.  She will be missed.  She was a faithful member of the Chattaroy Church of God.

Survivors include one daughter, Joanne (the late Boyd Jerome) Graves of Amelia, OH, one son, Frank G. Smith and daughter-in-law Jeanne Alison of Richmond, KY, two granddaughters, Vickie Lynn Tomlinson and husband Bobby Rhea of Murfreesboro, TN and Melissa Sue Graves Evans and husband Paul Anthony of Amelia, OH, one step-grandson, Scott MacGregor Knight of Norfolk, VA, and one great-grandson, Michael Eldon Innis of Tiffin, OH.  Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Bertha (the late Zeff) James of Rawl, WV and Lillian Alberta Grace and husband Skip of Vinton, VA, a sister-in-law Mary Yates Hardin (wife of the late Bill Hardin), a special nephew, Robert (Karen) Burchette of Tucson, Arizona, and many other nieces and nephews as well as friends and neighbors.

Due to Covid19, private immediate family services will be held.
