Amy Renee Johnson

Amy Renee Johnson, 44, of Aflex, KY passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.  Born December 4, 1977 at Pikeville, KY, she was the daughter of Bonnie Thompson Johnson of Hardy, KY and the late Roscoe Johnson. 

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Earnest “Muggins” Johnson.

Following high school, Amy received an associates degree from Southern WV Community & Technical College.  She worked as a substitute teacher for a few years in the Pike County School System and was a former volunteer at the Belfry Courthouse in the sheriff’s office. 

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her sons, Cameron Johnson-Barnes and Chase Hackney both of Aflex, KY; her siblings, Pamela Chapman of Hardy, KY, Mark Johnson of Aflex, KY, and Jennifer Hall of Delbarton, WV; her nieces and nephews, Kayla Harrison, Justin Coleman, Tracy Johnson, Whitney Chapman, and Brandon Ooten; a great nephew, Randon Harrison; a great niece, Kennedy Ooten; and a host of friends. 

In honoring Amy’s wishes, cremation will take place and the family will have a private memorial at a later date.
