Arvil Clinton Martin

Arvil Clinton Martin, 65, of Nolan, WV passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at his home.  Born February 27, 1959 in Mingo County, WV, he was the son of the late Robert “RC” and Chessel White Martin. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy L. Baisden Pope, 2 sisters, Darlene Crabtree and Teresa Martin, and a brother, Freddie Martin.

Arvil was a former construction worker.  He enjoyed riding horses, riding 4 wheelers, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren.  He loved his family and attended The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ at Den Branch in Naugatuck, WV. 

Survivors include his wife, Dolly Cook Martin of Nolan, WV, his children, Robert Bunt (Whitney) Martin of Chattaroy, WV, Arvil (Kristy “Little Bit”) Martin II of Morgantown, WV, Rhonda Baisden Pope of Tennessee, and Chianne McCoy of Williamson, WV, a step son, Timmy Lee Cook of Williamson, WV, 3 brothers, Troy (Patsy) Carter of Tennessee, Stewart (Linda) Martin of Jennies Creek, WV, and Stuart (Glenna) Hogan of Logan, WV, 1 sister, Elvia Lou Lawson of Huntington, WV, a host of grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and numerous other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 12:00 pm at The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ at Den Branch; Naugatuck, WV with Junior Dean and Curt Collins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery at Big Branch, Naugatuck, WV with his sons and others serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be after 4:00 pm Saturday at The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ at Den Branch with services nightly at 7:00 pm.
