Barbara Jo (Hindman) Copley

Barbara Jo Copley, 83, of Pikeville, KY formerly of Canada, KY passed away Monday; June 22, 2026 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Born February 10, 1943 in Williamson, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Leonard “Red” and Maggie Donnally Hindman. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Copley; and one brother, Jr. Hindman. 

Barb was as a former Home Economics teacher at Belfry High School with the Pike County Board of Education and retired after 28 years of service.  She was a member of the Pikeville Wesleyan Church. 

Survivors include her son, James David Copley of Pikeville, KY and a host of friends. 

In honoring Barb’s wishes, cremation will take place.  A simple service will be held Friday; July 17, 2026 at 9:00 at the Family Cemetery at Huddy, KY where she will be laid to rest with her family.
