Betty (Varner) Boyd

Betty Boyd, 80, of Davie, FL formerly of McCarr, KY passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Artis Senior Living in Davie, FL following a lingering illness.  Born April 5, 1944 in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Pearl Sweeney Varner. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lee Boyd in 2005, two brothers, Bill and Buddy Varner, and three sisters, Thelma Smith, Shirley Gooslin, and Lois Dotson. 

Betty was a homemaker. 

Survivors include her daughters, Robin (Jason) Horgan of Plantation, FL and Ronda (Mitch) Kallhoff of Watertown, SD, one brother, Dan (Sandy) Varner of Matewan, WV, two sisters, Fannie Lou Orrell of Portsmouth, OH and Donna Hunt of Georgia, her grandchildren, Brit, Chad, and Cody Graham and Rylee and Rowan Horgan.  Also surviving is a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Chris Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the Anderson Hatfield Cemetery at McCarr, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
