Betty Lawson

Betty Lawson, 72, of Beech Creek, WV passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  Born September 3, 1949 at O’Keefe, WV, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Dovie Cisco Lawson. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Dorothy Harrup, Burnese Lawson, and Lorene Hite, and 4 brothers, Charley Lawson, Eugene Lawson, Fred Lawson Jr., and Ray Lawson. 

Betty was a homemaker and a dedicated member of the Beech Creek Church of Christ for approximately 58 years.  Even though Betty faced many health issues throughout her life, she never gave up and she always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.  Her sense of humor would always bring laughter to those around her. 

Survivors include her brother, Shannon Lawson of Beech Creek, WV, 3 sisters, Loretta (Keith) Looney of Beech Creek, WV, Frances (Robert) Sipple of Beech Creek, WV, and Joyce Goad of Madisonville, KY.  Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Lawson Cemetery on the Right Hand Fork of Beech Creek with Bro. David Murphy and Bro. Andy Alexander officiating.  Burial will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
