Bonnie Dale Chapman, 78, of Freeburn, KY went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, November 26, 2023 where she was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. Born June 22, 1945 in her childhood home in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Robert Chapman Sr. and Hattie Mounts Chapman.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a beloved grandson, Joshua Steven Turner, a brother, Robert “Little Bob” Chapman Jr., and three sisters, Sarah Gearles, Donna Chapman, and Lucille Young.
Bonnie was a beloved mother and grandmother to many. Best known as Grammy, she devoted her entire life to raising her children and grandchildren. She worked hard her entire life mostly as a single mother. She was a homemaker and previously worked as a clerk and manager for Mobil and Chevron. She was of the Church of God faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 30 years, Sidney Chapman Jr. of Freeburn, KY, her 3 children, Robert “Bobby” and wife Grace Carrillo of Freeburn, KY, Marselena and husband Herschel Thach of Memphis, TN, and Angela and husband John Russell of Grand Prairie, TX, her 2 sisters, Christine Justice of Jacksonville, FL and Carol and husband Mack Compton of Harrodsburg, KY, her 10 grandchildren, Robert and wife Kara Carrillo, Gabriel and wife Brooke Carrillo, Nicholas and wife Shayla Carrillo, Joseph Aaron Turner, Jeremy Turner, Victoria and husband Jeff Queary, and John and wife Tiffany Russell, Cody Sincell, Sierra Sincell, and Heather Blankenship, her 13 great grandchildren, Kayliana Carrillo, Zion Koa Carrillo, Kiara Carrillo, Alyxandra Carrillo, Adrienne Carrillo, Arrow Carrillo who is due in January, Daniel Turner, Trey Shappley, Joshua Jacob Turner, Jeremiah Turner, Reagan Queary, Zayden Stump, Berkley Stump, and Mackenzie Wolford Ratliff.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Regional Church of God in Delbarton, WV with Pastor Mitchell Bias and Rev. Doug Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 pm Thursday evening at the Regional Church of God where services will be held at 7:00 pm with Pastor Mitchell Bias and Rev. Doug Maynard speaking.
