Brenda Joyce (Hitchcock) Willis

Brenda Joyce Hitchcock Willis, known to close loved ones as Benny, passed away peacefully on Friday; May 29, 2026 at the age of 75. 

Brenda was born October 13, 1950 in Williamson, WV to Kenneth and Marion Hitchcock, but she very much loved being home in her little house on the hill in Naugatuck, WV, but also missed her second home in Galion, OH. 

She loved reading and passed on that love of books to her children and grandkids, and anyone who was willing to listen as she told you what the whole book was about.  She openly loved the Lord and showed it in her enthusiasm for singing and worship.  She was a proud member of the Living Stone Church of God and prayed for everyone daily.  She was her family and their friends prayer warrior. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jamie Willis of Naugatuck, one great granddaughter, Hailey Willis, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Brenda will be gratefully remembered by her husband, Donald Denver Willis, her children, Donna and Daryl White of Williamson, WV, Brent Willis and Kella Hodge of Naugatuck, WV, Jaree and Roger Wilcox of Murfreesboro, TN, and Joy and Billy Bush of Harold, KY; her niece, Jeannie Johnson of Kermit, WV; her grandchildren, Kimberly, CJ, Justin, Ragen, Harley, Lisa, Nicole, Michael, Ethan, Donovan, Katie “her Katie Bear”, and Karra “her Carrot Cake”; 15 great grandkids; 5 honorary great grandkids; and 3 loving sisters, Pat, Jaree, and Judy. 

The family would like to offer much appreciation to the UK Hospital staff for their amazing care in making Brenda’s final hours peaceful for her and comforting for the family members who were able to be there. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday; June 2, 2026 at 12:00 pm at the Living Stone Church of God at Lenore, WV with Rev. Mike Bostic officiating.  Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at Vernatter Branch; Naugatuck, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service Tuesday at the Living Stone Church of God.
