Bruce Chapman Obituary

Bruce Kevin Chapman, 58, of Matewan, WV, passed Friday, October 1, 2021 at his home.

Born January 27, 1963 in Williamson, he was the son of the late Garland and Della Chapman.

Bruce was a beloved father, dedicated business manager, and West Virginia coal-miner. His family meant the world to him, and he enjoyed making lasting memories together during cookouts and sporting events and by keeping with his tradition of decorating together for every holiday. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, as he spent his time in nature hunting, fishing, and camping. Bruce was also passionate about taking loving care of his pets, gardening, and cheering on his Patriots, Packers, and Chiefs. He was a devoted member of his church Christian Assembly of God in Turkey Creek, KY. His Christian faith was an essential part of his life which provided him peace in his heart and mind.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Denise (Opie) Smith and brothers Tommy Dale "Chipper" Estepp and Steve Estepp.

He is survived by his step-mother Iretta Chapman; the mother of his children Deborah Chapman; his daughter Brittney Chapman and son Shaun Chapman; his sister Diana (Phillip) Bunch; his brothers Jimmy Estepp, Matney Estepp, Michael Estepp, and Ronnie Estepp; his nieces Stephanie (Mandy) Smith, Mary Beth Smith, Casey SmithSara Chapman, Valery Chapman Griffiths, Kelly Caudill, Crystal Estepp, Jessica Estepp, and Karla (Craig) Parker; his nephews Nicholas Bunch, Russell Smith, Nick Smith, Luke Smith, Adam (Veronia) Estepp, Dustin Estepp, and Tommy Estepp; and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews, friends.

His life is celebrated by his immediate and extended family, friends, and all those who knew him. For those able to attend his memorial, he will be honored at 1pm on Friday, October 8, 2021 with a graveside service to meet at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Maher, WV with Pastor Danny Mikles officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. 

Bruce was a loving, caring, and devout man that will be forever cherished by not only his family but everyone who was a part of his life. He has reunited with loved ones at his heavenly home and will remain present in lasting memories in the hearts of those dearest to him.
