Bruce Justice -age 87 of Belfry, Kentucky passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at his home in Belfry KY with family by his side. Born September 24, 1935 in Ransom, KY; he was the son of the late Willie and Stella Hatfield Justice.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 4 brothers Ray (Mildred) Justice, Willie (Abby) Justice, Jr, Homer (Betty Jo) Justice, and Mosco Justice; and 1 sister, Edna (Floyd) Dotson.
Bruce was a Coal Miner by trade and a proud member of the UMWA. He was a member of the Victory in Jesus Church in Sidney KY. Bruce loved spending time with his family and friends. All who knew him recognized his strong work ethic, as well as his unique personality. Bruce loved his church family and studied his Bible daily. He enjoyed digging ginseng, hunting, roadside peddling, and had the gift of making others smile with his American Folk songs, pranks, and his flamboyant sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Hager Justice of Belfry KY; his children, Bruce Edward (Lorna) Justice of Lancaster KY, Kathy (Donald) McCoy of Matewan WV, Karen (Bennie) Slater of Berea KY, Susan Justice (Michael D Osborne, deceased) of Paintsville KY, and Marty Justice of Belfry KY; his grandchildren, Amy (Lucas, deceased) Whitt, BJ (Jessica) Justice, Leah (Jered) Ray, Gereron McCoy, Paul (Katie) McCoy, Sharai (Joe) Bush, Ben (Brittany) Slater, Gareth (Joanna) Slater, Brandon (Brianna) May, Jared (Kandyce) May, Ashtene (Gabriel) Stevens, Sami Amburgey; his great grandchildren, Cooper Whitt, Emma Whitt, Abigail Isaac, Carson Justice, Elliot Ray, Jasper Ray, and Tripp Ray, Adam McCoy, Christopher Faine, Mylah McCoy, Keegan McCoy, Tanner Bush, Finley Bush, Brilynn Slater, Bennett Slater, Briley Slater, Levi Slater, Brielle May, Bristol May, Layla May, Malachi May, Kenleigh Stevens, Able Stevens, Emersyn Stevens, Hunter Stevens, Ellie Stevens, Graham Stevens, and Jensen Williams; brothers Bob (Lois) Justice and Ernie (Ann) Justice; sister, Mae (James, deceased) Dotson; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Justice and the host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Victory in Jesus Church at Sidney, KY with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Graveside services and burial will immediately follow in the Alley Cemetery at McCarr, KY with family members serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening at the Victory in Jesus Church; Hwy 119 South; Sidney, KY.
