Buddy Lee Young

Buddy Lee Young, 81, of Hardy, KY went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 25, 2023 at his home.  Born March 10, 1942 at Brushy, KY, he was the son of the late Alfred and Betty Thompson Young. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Young, four brothers, Harmon, Curtis, Junior, and Malcolm Young, and two sisters, Christine McGuire and Grace Robinette. 

Buddy was a retired coal miner and a member of the Hardy Church of Christ.  One of his biggest enjoyments in life was being in and raising his garden. 

Survivors include his daughter, Anita Reed of Williamson, WV, his son, Kevin Young of Hardy, KY, two sisters, Bronice Person of Ohio and Lucy Robinette of Rockhouse, KY, his grandchildren, Cody (Amber) Young, Mary Ann (Josh) Hatfield, and Shawn Maynard, his great grandchildren, Khloe Marcum, Brooklyn Young, Kerston Zankovitch, Hudson Young, and Oaklyn Young.  Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Dave Lockard officiating.  Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery at Varney, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home.
