Carolyn G. Dillon Ball, 69, of Belfry, KY formerly of Williamson, WV went home to be with her Lord on Monday; March 23, 2026 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born August 9, 1956 in South Williamson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Bobby Dean O’Brien and the late Joyce D. Stepp O’Brien Lakin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Patricia O’Brien; her stepfather, Herman Lakin; an infant son, Edgar Dillon; and her only grandson, David Matthew Hinkle.
Carolyn was a homemaker and one of her dreams was reached of owning her own business by being the owner of the former Audra’s Restaurant in Delbarton, WV. She also formerly worked at the Walnut Room and as a bank teller at the Bank of Mingo in Delbarton. Carol had a heart of gold for all whether human or animal. She loved her kids, her grandkids, family, and holidays. She always looked out for others and would do without to help others. Carolyn was a devout Christian and a dedicated member of the Williamson Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Chester Ball of Belfry, KY; her children, Monica Faith (David) Justice of Williamson, WV, Paul David Dillon Jr. of Chattaroy, WV, and Michelle Dillon of Chattaroy, WV; her stepchildren, Chester Lee (Paula) Ball of Nolan, WV and Shawn Ball of Belfry, KY; one sister, Susan G. (David) West of Aflex, KY; two brothers, Jerry (Margaret “Peggy”) O’Brien of Shreve, OH and Richard D. (Wilma) O’Brien of Sevierville, TN; her second “mother”, Faye Haney of Hatfield, KY; her grandchildren, Siera (Alex), Kalie (Cameron), Peyton, Ashley, Gracie, Jordan, Jacob, Bella, Anna, and Shawna; four great-grandchildren; a special aunt, Joan Anderson of Williamson, WV; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday; March 27, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Belfry, KY with Pastor Earl Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with Michael Shawn Maynard, Dave Justice, Cameron Kinser, Jason Lambert, Dalton Delong, Jordan Ball, Shane Justice, and Dave Justice Sr. serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Steve Blankenship.
Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home with services at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help offset final expenses.
