Cleatis Ray Blankenship

Cleatis Ray Blankenship, 51, of Vansant, VA formerly of Beech Creek, WV passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at his home following a lingering illness.  Born December 14, 1970 at Varney, WV, he was the son of J.P. and Lois Jean Cantrell Blankenship of Beech Creek, WV. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Blankenship. 

Cleatis Ray was a member of the Church of Christ. He will be missed and we will always love him!

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a son James Blankenship of Vansant, VA, a daughter, Charissa (Daniel) Buchannon of Baisden, WV, his girlfriend and special caretaker, Pam Owens of Vansant, VA, two grandchildren, Noah and Cheyenne Buchannon, a sister, Tina Lawson of Beech Creek, WV, 2 brothers, Bobby Wayne (Crystal) Blankenship of Beech Creek, WV and Terry Allen Smith of Varney, WV, a special aunt, Judy Kennedy, special nephew, Daniel Lawson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the Devon Church of Christ with his dad J.P. Blankenship speaking and Bro. Gene Clemons assisting.  Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery at Beech Creek with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

The body will lie in state prior to services on Friday at the Devon Church of Christ.
