Colbert “Buddy” Maynard, known by his trucker friends as Lettuce Head, 69, of Belfry, KY passed away Friday, December 19, 2025 at his home. Born March 1, 1956 in Williamson, WV, he was the son of the late Curtis and Kathern “Tootie” Hensley Maynard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jami Lynn Maynard; a sister, Alene Runyon; and two brothers-in-law, Gary Runyon and Johnny “Poppy” Hanny.
Buddy as a jack of all trades. He was a former truck driver and co-owner of the former B&J Trucking. He was a member of the 5th Avenue Church.
Survivors include his sons, Chad Maynard of Williston, FL, Brandon (Delena) Maynard of Turkey Creek, KY, Chase Maynard (Kayla) of Belfry, KY, and Jacob (Halie) Maynard of Hatfield, KY; his siblings, Faye “Mother” Hanny of Hatfield, KY, Mary (Roger) Stepp of Hatfield, KY, David “Spanky” (Karen) Maynard of Belfry, KY, Daryl Marie (Lynn) Fields of Hatfield, KY, and Tommy Maynard of Hatfield, KY; his grandchildren, Connor Maynard, Alexis Maynard, Tanner Maynard, Brantley Maynard, Daxton Maynard, and Iylah Maynard; a special cousin, Bill Hensley of Hatfield, KY; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday; December 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the 5th Avenue Church with Bro. Timmy Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowe Cemetery at Hatfield, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Sunday evening at the 5th Avenue Church.
