Connie (Chafin) Mahon

Connie Mahon, 70, of Beech Creek, WV passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Born October 16, 1952 at Williamson, WV, she was the daughter of the late French and Meda Blankenship Chafin.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Cecil Larry Chafin, Fred Chafin, and Troy “Boy” Chafin, and 3 sisters, Elsie Goad, Marge Ferrell, and Loretta “Monk” Wallen.

Connie was a dedicated homemaker and she was 110% devoted to her family whom she loved so very much.  She loved listening to music, going to sing karaoke, and dancing, especially doing the jitterbug with the love of her life. Connie was always willing to lend a helping hand and assist others in need whether it be preparing food, helping serve, or taking someone to doctor’s appointments.  She loved watching any sports in which her grandchildren were involved.

Survivors include her husband of 50 ½ years, Ralph Mahon of Beech Creek, WV, her daughter, Melinda Mahon of Huntersville, NC, her son, Eddie (Suzy) Mahon of Beech Creek, WV, 2 sisters, Effie (Roger) Hardesty of Mate Creek, WV and Emma Sawyer of Cleveland, OH, 2 sisters-in-law, Carol Chafin and Peggy Porter, her grandchildren, Sydney Bess, Blake (Sabrina) Cook, Hanna (John) Bevins, Zeriya, Myles, and Zane Mahon, 2 great-grandchildren Daxton and Asher Cook; and 2 special nieces, Missy Baker and Teresa Cantrell.  Connie will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews and their families, and numerous friends at the Delbarton Opry House, the East Kentucky Opry and Karaoke at Sidney, KY, and Chief Logan Pickin in the Park.

In honoring Connie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of Connie’s life will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Devon Church of Christ with Bro. Archie Kevin Blankenship speaking.
