Connie Sue Maynard, 56, of Laurel Creek; Lenore, WV passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Lenore, WV. Born October 25, 1963 in South Williamson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Betty Ruth Carey Tomblin.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George William Maynard, and two brothers, Bill and Hank Tomblin.
Connie was a graduate of Lenore High School and was a homemaker. She loved to spend time with her family and friends sitting on the porch reminiscing of the good old days. She loved her soap operas and listening to music. One of her mottos was from the old song "I Did It My Way". Even though she lived life to the fullest, the one thing she was very proud of was the birth of her first grandchild, Laurel, whom she was proud to tell of and show her picture.
Survivors include her son, Zachary (Courtney) Maynard of Lenore, WV, her granddaughter, Laurel Maynard of Lenore, WV, one brother, Ricky "Rebel" (Kathy) Carey of Williamson, WV, a sister-in-law, Mary Newsome of Williamson, WV, her nieces and nephews, Christopher Charles, Gina Peck, Misty Carey, Joey Carey, Christopher Staggs, Candace Staggs, Selena Ferguson, Jessica Porter, Jason Porter, Chandler, Madison, and Jaxson Carey. Also surviving is a host of friends.
In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, a graveside service was held Friday, May 8, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the Carey Cemetery at Laurel Creek; Lenore, WV with Bro. James Ed Baisden and Bro. Milton Bryant officiating and burial followed. A private family visitation was held at the funeral home.
