Daniel G. "Dan" Scott

Daniel G. “Dan” Scott, 76, of Williamson, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Born January 29, 1948 in Williamson, WV, he was the son of the late Cecil T. Scott and Beulah Jane Duffett Scott.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil C. Scott, and a great grandchild, Grant Larabee.

Dan worked as salesman for many years in the carpet industry and snack foods.  Most importantly, Dan was a Christian.  He was an ordained minister for over 50 years and was serving as the Pastor of the Rawl Freewill Baptist Church. 

Survivors include the love of his life and wife of nearly 59 years, Barbara Hackney Scott of Williamson, WV, his children, Daniel G. (Angela) Scott Jr. of Central, SC, Stephanie (Pete) Caraway of Williamson, WV, Jessica (Rocky) Ball of Nashville, TN, and Joshua (Latosha) Scott of Hurricane, WV, his grandchildren, Samantha Rogers, Joseph Bucci, Rebekah Larabee, Clayton Walker Jude, Caleb Daniel Jude, Kaycee Jude, Garin Scott, and Landry Scott, his great grandchildren, Anniston Rogers, August Rogers, Cooper Larabee, Aniyah Bucci, and Luka Bucci.  Also surviving is a host of brothers and sisters in Christ and a multitude of friends. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Earl White officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV with family members serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
