Danny Lee Mahon Sr., 72, of Wharncliffe, WV passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at his daughter’s home following a short illness. Born January 19, 1952 at O’Keefe, WV, he was the son of the late Harley Mahon Jr. and Lina Cisco Mahon.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lonis Mahon and Harley Buren Mahon, one sister, Juanita Palm., and 2 stepsons, Rodney Johnson and Rickey Johnson.
Danny was a former coal miner and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include his wife, Delores New Mahon of Wharncliffe, WV, his children, Michelle May (Bill) Lockard of Ben Creek, Danny Mahon Jr. (Annie Osborne) of Varney, John Paul Belcher of Ben Creek, a stepson, Bernard Lee (Cynthia) Johnson of Horsepen, stepdaughters, Betty Morgan of Greenbrier County and Annette (Chuckie) Morgan of Hanover, like a daughter, B.J. Cyrus of Ben Creek, 3 sisters, Agnes (Fred) Sherburn of Taylor, MI, Margaret Caldwell of Beech Creek, and Imajean (Ronnie) Honaker of Beech Creek, his grandchildren, Dakota Belcher, David Mahon, Daniel Mahon, Kimberly Mahon, Audrey Mahon, Caleb Belcher, Janyiah Belcher, Bradley Browning, Renae Browning, Obed Johnson Jr., Emily Johnson, Natasha Morgan, Kenny Morgan, and Tyra Johnson, a special friend, Carl Brewer, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Devon Church of Christ at Beech Creek, WV with Evangelists Billy Hatfield, Travis Simpkins, David Blankenship, and Kevin Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Grover Kennedy & Mahon Cemetery at Beech Creek with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Sunday evening at the Devon Church of Christ with services at 7:00 pm.
