Danny Ray Casey

Danny Ray Casey, 66, of Hardy, KY passed away Monday, August 26, 2024 in CAMC Memorial Division in Charleston, WV.  Born May 1, 1958 in Freeburn, KY, he was the son of the late Bradley Casey Sr. and the late Eloise Farley Casey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willis, Randal, and Bradley Casey Jr., and one sister, Phyllis Jean Harris. 

Danny was a former coal miner.  He enjoyed watching Nascar racing, American Idol, and Westerns on television and he loved muscle cars, especially mustangs.  One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his daughter/granddaughter, Bella, whom he raised as his own. 

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Tina Smiley Casey of Hardy, KY, his children, Deonna (Jordan) Toler of Charleston, WV, Justin  (Alexa) Crank of Ashland, KY, Lakin (Adam) Hilton of Hardy, KY, Gage Crank of Hardy, KY, Bella Crank of Hardy, KY, and Valerie (Johnny) Samons of Prestonsburg, KY, his grandchildren, Kaiden Crank, Aubrey Crank, Salem Crank, Azlyn Hilton, Asher Hilton, Ainzley Hilton, and Bri Samons, one sister, Patricia Dotson of Phelps, KY, a special brother-in-law, Oliver “Buddy” Harris Jr. of North Matewan, WV, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Pastor Gary Toler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at his home at Hardy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
