Danny Ray Whitt

Danny Ray Whitt, 71, of Belfry, KY passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at his home.  Born November 20, 1952 in Matewan, WV, he was the son of the late Amos and Annetta Runyon Whitt. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his best friend, Greg Igo. 

Danny Ray was a deputy sheriff, school bus driver, and coal miner.  A loving dad, brother, and grandfather, his grandchildren were #1 in his life. 

Survivors include his sons, Eric (Jamie) Whitt of Ransom, KY, Jason Daniel Whitt of Belfry, KY, and Danny (Christa) Whitt II of Turkey Creek, KY, his siblings, Brenda Burgraff of Turkey Creek, KY, Amos Whitt Jr. of Williamson, WV, Shirley (Dennis) Maroudas of Forest Hills, KY, Harvey (Lisha) Whitt of Floyd County, KY, Barb (Greg) Preece of Ragland, WV, and Earnest Whitt of Williamson, WV, his grandchildren who were his pride and joy Kylie Whitt, Sawyer Whitt, Raylee Whitt, Aiden Whitt, Summer Whitt, and Kendall Whitt.  Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 pm at the Hardy Church of Christ at Hardy, KY.
