Della Faye Acord Blankenship

Della Faye Acord Blankenship, 63, of Nolan, WV departed this world surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, WV.  Born April 22, 1959, she was the daughter of the late William and Shirley Smith Acord.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Lynda (Roy) Hilton, Nellie Cook, and Stella Acord; a brother, William “Junebug” Acord; daughter-in-law, Veronica Lynn Chafins; 2 grandchildren, Terry Anderson and Tamika Anderson; 1 great-grandchild, Cason Anderson; 2 nephews, Johnathan Justice and Roy Hilton; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Crabtree.

Della is survived by her husband, Lawson “Poppy” Blankenship; a daughter, Shianna (James) Anderson of Greenfield, OH; a son, Jimmy “Bucky” Chafins of Mount Sterling, OH; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Utterback, Jennifer Chafins, Heath Marcum, Alvin Marcum, Alexandria (Goose) Anderson, Shayla Anderson, Alex Anderson, and Maggie Anderson; 3 great-grandchildren, Coltan Utterback, Caselynn Anderson, and soon to be Ryder Lester; 3 sisters, Nettie Ball, Helen (Stevie) West, and Julia Crabtree who was her best friend and closest confidant; 3 brothers, James “Jimmy” Acord, John “Chop” Acord, and Jackie (Kathy) Acord.  She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who looked at her as granny.

Della was truly a loving and supportive mother.  She loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart.  She will truly be missed!

Cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time.
