Dora Ellen (Charles) Blevins

Dora Ellen Blevins, 89, of Locust Grove, VA formerly of Williamson, WV passed away at home on Friday, June 9,2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 31, 1933 at Kermit, WV she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Dixie Charles.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by beloved family members; husband, Ray Blevins, son Jeb Blevins, sisters Magdalene Johnson, Mabel Royster, Ellouise VanScoy, and brother Donald Charles.

Dora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for her dedication to family, known affectionately; as “Mimi” to all. Dora was of the Christian faith, having attended the Williamson Wesleyan Church. She also attended the River of Life Church while making her home with her daughter and son-in-law Abbie and Shawn Harpel in Virginia.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Vanessa Blevins; daughters Abbie (Shawn) Harpel, Deena (Steve) Moore; son Buddy (Laura) Blevins; sister Peggy (Charles) Robinette; ten grandchildren Ami Baumgartner, Michael (Stephanie) Harpel, Laura (Josh) Schmeiser, Johnnie Ray Moore, Bryan Ray (Ashley) Blevins, Ali Blevins, Zack Blevins, Heather Hurley, Luke Hurley and Mandy Blevins; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be from 1-2 p.m. at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel with services at 2 p.m. Pastor Richard Comer officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Williamson Wesleyan Church. The family wishes to express appreciation to the team from Hospice of Piedmont for their wonderful care of Dora during her final journey.
