Dorothy Adkins

Dorothy Adkins, 70, of Aflex, KY passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at her home.  Born January 5, 1953 in Burnwell, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ruley and Mahalia Doye Adkins. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Douglas High Adkins, Lester Fred Adkins, Charles Jim Adkins, and William “Bill” Adkins, and 1 sister, Annabella Collins. 

Dorothy was a homemaker and caregiver for most of her family over the years.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Thacker of Aflex, KY, a daughter, Christy, 1 brother, Oscar (Debbie) Adkins of Hardy, KY, her nieces, Rebecca Paige, Becky Kay, Kendra, and Mary, her nephews, Logan, John, David, Ruley, and Timmy, and a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Burnwell Gospel Revelation Tabernacle with Pastor Delbert McCoy officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be at 5:00 pm for family and after 6:00 pm for friends Tuesday evening at the Burnwell Gospel Revelation Tabernacle.
