Dorothy Ann Hatfield, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, age 76, of Ransom, KY went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022 from the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. Born October 16, 1945 in Mingo County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Gracie Ratliff Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Seth Hatfield; a brother, Willie Alfred “Junior” Wilson Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Hamilton.
Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker and never met a stranger. She was a member of the Nolan Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Billy Joe Hatfield Sr. of Ransom, KY; her children, Billy Joe (Kelly) Hatfield Jr. of Lenore, WV, James Alfred “Jamie” (Devonna) Hatfield of Phelps, KY, and Pamela Sue Hatfield of Ransom, KY; her grandchildren, Billy Joe Hatfield III, James Oliver Cory Hatfield, Dustin Joseph (Jamie Anderson) Hatfield, and Ashley Dawn (Matthew) Collins; her great-grandchildren, Lylah Grace Marie Hatfield and Lucas Eugene Collins. Also surviving is a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service to honor Dorothy’s life will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Earl White and Bro. Ray Taylor officiating.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 pm Tuesday.
