Edna Mae Drake, 81, of Toler, KY went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the home of her sister Barbara where she had been cared for the last few months of her illness. Born May 10, 1942 in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Lafayette and Zelma Hatfield Hackney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Drake, a son, Rusty Drake, 3 brothers, Lafayette Hackney Jr., Harold Gene Hackney, and William Harrison Hackney, and 1 sister, Bessie Esteline Hackney.
Edna Mae was a former deputy and was the office manager for the Belfry branch of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years until her retirement. She was the oldest in age member of the Rawl Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Blanca) Drake of Orlando, FL, a sister, Barbara (Daniel) Scott of Williamson, WV, 3 grandchildren, Stephen, Ryan, and Alex Drake, 5 great grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and whom she loved so much, and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Daniel Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the George W. Hatfield Cemetery at Ransom, KY with her nephews and great nephews serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home.
