Elmer Ray Spence

Elmer Ray Spence of Delbarton, West Virginia went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at ARH in South Williamson, Kentucky.  He was born in Lenore, West Virginia on November 9, 1947.  

Elmer was a retired coal miner and was a member of the UMWA.  Elmer was a three time Mayor in the Town of Delbarton, West Virginia, a town of which he truly loved.

He was a husband, companion, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl C. Spence, his mother, Chloie A. Hall, a brother, James Spence, a sister, Connie Carroll, and a son, Elmer Ray Spence II.

Elmer will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.  He had leadership, strength, compassion, and willingness to always take up for those who couldn't take up for themselves.

There will be an announcement made later for a celebration of his life.
