Eric Brandon Bentley

Eric Brandon Bentley, 40, of Freeburn, KY passed away Wednesday; December 10, 2025 at Belfry, KY due to an accident.  Born May 12, 1985 in Pikeville, KY, he as the son of Melissa Jean Pruitt Gooslin of Freeburn, KY and the late Billy R. Bentley Jr. 

In addition to his dad, he was preceded in death by his step-dad, Pee Wee Gooslin; and his maternal grandmother, Brenice Pruitt. 

Eric was a former carpenter. 

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his paternal grandparents, Billy R. and Sandra Bentley Sr. of Phelps, KY; his maternal grandfather, Vernon Pruitt of Phelps, KY; a brother, Billy R. Bentley III of Stone, KY; two sisters, Brandy Brown of Freeburn, KY and Brook Bentley of La Grange, KY; a special aunt, Rhonda Phillipi of Phelps, KY; and a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday; December 14, 2025 at 12:00 pm at the Gooslin Bottom Free Pentecostal Church with Rev. Odis Blankenship, Rev. Larry Rife, and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the W.W. Charles Cemetery at Phelps, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Morris, Rodney Scott, Bert Hatfield, Troy Phillipi, Tom Davis, and Will T. Scott serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Saturday evening at the Gooslin Bottom Free Pentecostal Church.
