Essie Jane (Norman) Whetstone

Essie Jane (Norman) Whetstone, 83, of Winder, GA formerly of Blackberry, KY passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her home.  Born December 21, 1936 in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Edith Farley Norman.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Adrian C. Whetstone; a son, William P. Whetstone; a daughter, Sally Enzle; and several brothers and sisters.

After graduating high school, Essie Jane worked for a while as a school teacher.  After leaving the area, she worked as director of the Board of Elections for the Ohio Republican Party for several years, and worked at various other jobs as well as being a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Rodney Whetstone and his fiance Madonna Hatfield of Winder, GA; a brother, John Norman of Lima, OH; her grandchildren, Casey, Alexis, Bill, and Tiffany; several great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the Farley Cemetery at McCarr, KY with burial to follow.
