Eva Denise (Gilbert) Prater

Eva Denise (Gilbert) Prater, 50, of Lawndale, NC formerly of Williamson, WV passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at her home.  Born December 16, 1973 in South Williamson, KY, she was the daughter of Dorothy Dye “Sister Dot” Gilbert of Freeburn, KY and the late Rev. Eugene Gilbert. 

She was a homemaker. 

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her companion, Chuck Bowyer of Lawndale, NC, her children, Alexandria Centers of South Williamson, KY, Taylor (James) Pennington of Williamson, WV, Jessica (Charles) Waller of Williamson, WV, Brandon Ward of Tennessee, and Tyler Caudill of West Virginia, 3 brothers, Russell Gilbert of North Carolina, Roger Gilbert of Freeburn, KY, and Jon (Jennifer) Gilbert of Freeburn, KY, 3 sisters, Thelma Gilbert of Mooresville, NC, Wilma Gilbert of Mooresville, NC, and Barbara (Larry) Tomlinson of Virginia, 11 grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 5:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at The Church of Liberty & Unity in West Williamson, WV where a simple service will be held at 4:00 pm with Pastor Charlie Dingess conducting.  Cremation will follow the services Tuesday.
