Gladys White Shadd, 91, of Naugatuck, WV passed away Monday, December 23, 2024 at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY. born May 5, 1933 in Ragland, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Lydia Maynard Perry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer White, her second husband, Charles Shadd, sons, James White, Richard White, and Elmer White Jr., daughters, Sarah Adkins, Liddie White, Gladys Dempsey, and Jenetta White, brothers, Roscoe Perry and James “Jim” Perry, sisters, Della Perry, Dolly Zornes, and Mary Benton, grandchildren, Kevin Knotts, Aden White, and Jeremiah White, and a great-grandchild, Aden White.
Gladys was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Lewis White of Delbarton, WV, David (Lisa) White of Naugatuck, WV, and Bryan (Katie) White of Cincinnati, OH, daughters, Mary Hinkle of Cincinnati, OH, Carolyn (Brad) Baize of Naugatuck, WV, and Melissa Jones of Delbarton, WV, grandsons, James White Jr., Eugene White, Trevor White, Travis White, Lewis White, Charles White, Ryan Dempsey, William White, David White, Justin White, Robert Hinkle, Zachary Baize who helped care for her, Austin (Kiowa) Baize, and Timothy Jones, granddaughters, Sandy Simpkins, Jennifer Dotson, Lisa Kezee, Melissa Cook, Amanda Dempsey, Heather Hinkle, Kayla Stanley, Sarah Jones, Adalyn White, and Emerson Franze, a host of great-grandchildren, other family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Victory Christian Center in Lenore, WV with Pastor Terry Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery at Naugatuck, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 4:00 pm for family and after 5:00 pm for friends on Friday at the Victory Christian Center.
