Gladys (Curry) Young

Gladys Curry Young, 95, of Sidney, KY went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 15, 2021 from the Pikeville Nursing and Rehab Center in Pikeville, KY.  Born November 28, 1925 in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Tolby and Minnie Goff Curry. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JK Young and their son, Jimmy Dale Young.  She was also preceded by her siblings, Carl Curry, Jim Curry, Fred Curry, Tolby Curry Jr., Bobby Curry, Eleanor Homes, Nollis Hackney, and Alice Pinson. 

Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  

She is survived by her three grandsons and their families; Jeremy K. Young (Lori C. Young) of Tulsa, OK and daughter Alexis L. Young of Tampa, FL; John C. Young (Jennifer G. Young) and their children, Avienda L. Young, James K. Young, Charles E. Young, and George T. Young of Tulsa, OK; and Matthew C. Young (Ashlee C. Young) and their sons, Jaxson C. Young and Landon C. Young of Richmond, KY; one brother, Billy Joe (Millie) Curry of MI, and one sister, Sharon (Junior) Justice of Pikeville, KY.  In addition, Gladys is survived by many extended family and friends. 

Please join us in celebrating Gladys’ life at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY where funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Bro. Dennis Smith Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Sidney, KY with her grandsons and other family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home.
