Harold May

Harold May, 87, of Canada, KY passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Born December 30, 1936 at Pinsonfork, KY, he was the son of the late Jeff and Nancy Ball May.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Varney May, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Harold was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. 

Survivors include a son, Harold Estil (Gena) May of Canada, KY, a daughter, Nancy Wallce of Belfry, KY, like a daughter, Anita (Paul) Wolford of Linden, MI, a special brother-in-law, Glen (Nina Gail) Varney of Canada, KY, his grandchildren, Kari Hylton, Gabrille Kevish, Brad Stanley, and Justin May, and several great grandchildren. 

In honoring Harold’s wishes, cremation will take place.  A graveside service where he will be placed to rest beside his wife will be held at a later time.
