Helen Jean (Fish) Brown

Helen Jean Brown, 83, of Joplin, MO formerly of Sidney, KY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Westgate at Wildwood Ranch Nursing Center in Joplin, MO.  Born May 25, 1940 in Sparta, TN, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Fish and the late Bessie Lawson Fish Stanley. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Albert Stanley, the father of her children, Keith Brown, a son, Edward Clyde Brown, a grandson, Clyde Allen Brown, brothers, James Fish, Lloyd Fish, C.B. Fish, Bobby Fish, George Stanley and Jeff Stanley, and sisters, Ann Knight and Sela Cochran. 

Helen was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed! 

Survivors include her children, Ricky Brown of FL, Gregory Brown of FL, and Vicky Vaughan of MO, brothers, Daniel Stanley of Sidney, KY, Kent Stanley of TN, and Noah Stanley of NC, sisters, Anita Williamson of Sidney, KY, Carman Edwards of Newark, OH, and Myrtle Stepp of Columbus, OH, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Elders of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery at Dix Fork; Sidney, KY.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm Friday.
