Iretta Chapman, 86, of Williamson, WV passed away Saturday; October 25, 2025 at her home. Born March 10, 1939 in South Williamson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Albert Bevins Sr. and the late Bertha Davis Bevins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Chapman; her step-son, Bruce Chapman; her brothers, Nelmon (Sarah) Bevins, Albert (Roberta) Bevins Jr., and Clifford Bevins; and sisters, Hazel (Willard) Sellards, Delma Surber, Josephine (Fitchue Jr.) Barker, Betty Jean (Howard) Shadd, and Emma Lou (Frank) Carter.
Iretta worked as a sales person for many years at G.C. Murphy’s and was a member of the Christian Assembly of God at Turkey Creek, KY.
Survivors include her sister, Etta (the late Bill) McCoy of King, NC; step-daughter, Diana (Phillip) Bunch of Milton, FL; step-grandchildren, Nicholas Bunch, James Bunch, Brittney Chapman, and Shaun Chapman; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday; October 30, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel with Pastor Danny Mikles officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
