Jacob "Jake" Holt

Jacob “Jake” Holt, 33, of McCarr, KY formerly of North Matewan, WV tragically departed this life on Monday, December 20, 2021 at North Matewan, WV.  Born March 22, 1988 in Logan, WV, he was the son of Glenn (Rhonda) Holt of North Matewan, WV and the late Alina Holt.

In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen and Sammy Holt, grandfather, John “Buck” Barnhart, and grandmother, Connie Starr. 

Jake was a 2006 graduate of Matewan High School where he played football and basketball.  He was a fan of the NFL Atlanta Falcons.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his grandmother, Nyoka Barnhart, his grandfather, Rev. Gary “Bo” Starr, his companion, Nikki Collins, his children, Kaitlyn West, Kennedy West, Isaiah Young, and Laikyn Holt, his brothers, Josh (Kim) Holt and Jonah Wilder. Also surviving is a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Rev. Gary Starr officiating.  Burial will follow in the Buskirk Cemetery at Buskirk, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
