James A. Stanley, 70, of Turkey Creek, KY passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born October 11, 1951 in South Williamson, KY, he was the son of the late Clyde and Ada Blackburn Stanley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Lowe Stanley, 2 children, Elizabeth Stanley and Nathaniel Stanley, 3 brothers, Clyde Stanley Jr., Willard Stanley, and Donald Lee Stanley, and 2 sisters, Glen Dean Dye and Ernestine Wilson.
James was a graduate of Belfry High School, a former coal miner and construction worker, and he was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his children, Eva (James) Dotson of Turkey Creek, KY, Richard (Mary) Stanley of Merrimac, WV, and Joseph Stanley of Ocala, FL, 1 sister, Verlene Pinson of Frankfort, KY, his grandchildren, Jasmine Newsome, Elisha Callaway, Heaven Charles, Dakota (Jordan) Andersen, and Caleb Stanley, his great-grandchildren, Rylan Newsome, Bryleigh Newsome, Kasmira Newsome, Elam Callaway, Adalyn Callaway, and Fox Andersen. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and church families.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Gary Dove officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowe Family Cemetery at Taylor Fork; Turkey Creek, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home with services at 7:00 pm.
