James Charles Thompson

James Charles Thompson, 69, of Burnwell, KY went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Rockcastle Hospital & Rehabilitation Center in Mount Vernon, KY.  Born May 3, 1954 in Williamson, WV, he was the son of the late John C. and Zola Mae (Vest) Thompson. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a beloved niece and nephew, Kelli and Henry. 

James Charles was a former employee of City Tire where he worked cleaning and repairing car washes. 

Survivors include his fiancé, Rene` Quick of Chapmanville, WV, 14 siblings, Janice Canterbury, Sandra Blankenship, Mary Thompson, Martha Thompson, Ethel (Chet) White, Floyd (Christy) Thompson, Myrtle Caraway, Rennie (Delean) Thompson, Grace Thompson, Clara (Earl) Maynard, Zella (Leslie) Hall, Ronnie Thompson, Wanda Mayer, and Joyce (Shawn) Haubrich, his nieces and nephews, Necie, April, Melissa Nicole, Ellen, Stephen, John, LaShonda, Mandy, Shawn, Auburn, Melissa Zola, Justin, Caitlyn, and Elizabeth.  Also surviving is a host of great nieces, great nephews, other family, and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Burnwell Gospel Revelation Tabernacle with Pastor Delbert McCoy and Rev. John Victor McCoy officiating.  Burial will follow in the Thompson-Moore Cemetery at Burnwell, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Sunday and Monday evenings at the Burnwell Gospel Revelation Tabernacle with services at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
