Joan Fields, 83, of South Williamson, KY passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born November 1, 1939 in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Malda Stapleton Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fayette Fields, and two brothers, Huey Wilson and Richard Wilson.
Joan was a homemaker and was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy (Mary) Fields of South Williamson, KY, her daughter, Fayetta Jo “Faye” (David) Hatfield of Ransom, KY, five grandchildren, Ruth E. (Glen) Reed of Indiana, David K. Hatfield Jr. of Pippa Passes, KY, Sarah Jane Fields of Williamson, WV, Samantha Faith Fields and Samuel Jacob Dillon “Sammy” Fields both of South Williamson, KY, two great grandchildren, Austin Stafford of Pippa Passes, KY and Keirston Stafford of Stone, KY, a great-great grandson, Isaiah Matthew Stafford of Stone, KY and another great-great grandchild on the way.
A procession will depart from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm Friday to the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY for a graveside committal service.
Visitation will be from 7-9 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
