John Patrick Miller Jr.

John Patrick Miller Jr., 74, of Williamson, WV passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  Born March 18, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Miller Sr. and the late Mary A. Reed Miller Cochran.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Brian Chadwick Miller.

John was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era serving in the Philippines, Korea, and other locations.  He retired from the Appalachian Regional Hospital after many years of service having worked in laundry, maintenance, and the boiler room.  He was a Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Blankenship Miller of Williamson, WV, two children, Crystal Dawn Blackburn and John Cory Miller both of Williamson, WV, one grandson, Paul Chadwick Blackburn of South Carolina, a sister-in-law, Della (Brian) Blankenship of Williamson, WV, a special family friend, Katrina Hardin, his eight fur babies, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Rudy Spencer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV.  Military honors will be presented by the DAV Belfry Chapter 141.

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
