Johnny Earl Murphy

Johnny Earl Murphy, 69, of Beech Creek, WV passed away Sunday; June 14, 2026 at the Logan Regional Medical Center.  Born July 18, 1956 in Williamson, WV, he was the son of the late Kermit and Justine Kennedy Murphy. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert “Crowbar”, Kermit Jr., Billy Joe, and Ed Murphy; and sisters, Mary Kat Daniels and Phyllis Blankenship.

Johnny Earl was a former coal miner.  He was a member of the Beech Creek Church of Christ and the UMWA Local 1440.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Daniels Murphy of Beech Creek, WV; one son, Neal (Heather) Murphy of Beech Creek, WV; one daughter, Cindy (Ryan) Gresham of Chapmanville, WV; his grandchildren, Autumn Murphy, Peyton Dingess, and Maddux Gresham; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. 

A graveside service will be held Wednesday; June 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Murphy Cemetery at Foundation Fork at Beech Creek, WV with Bruce Murphy and Shannon Lawson speaking.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
