Joyce Kay (Ingersoll) Johnson

Joyce Kay Ingersoll Johnson, 60, of Williamson, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.  Born October 17, 1959 in South Williamson, KY, she was the daughter of Evelyn Collins Ingersoll of Red Jacket, WV and the late Levi James Ingersoll.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Gail Lambert, and two grandchildren, Hayden and Aubree.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her loving husband of many years, Charles C. "Chuck" Johnson of Williamson, WV, her children, Kevin (Alice) Ingersoll of White Pine, TN, Leonard Steven Ingersoll of Red Jacket, WV, Amanda Kay Mitchem and Tasha Renee Mitchem, both of Williamson, WV, her siblings, James "Jabo" (Pat) Ingersoll of Indiana, Teresa (the late Billy) Mitchem of North Matewan, WV, Louise "Peachie" (Mike) Dingess of Lynn, WV, Florann Daniels (Bimbo Gearles) of Red Jacket, WV, Lisa (the late Denver) Harvey of North Matewan, Angie (Kevin) Sherpinskas of North Matewan, WV, Sandy (David) Chafin of Newtown, WV, Lora (Donald) Epling of Louisa, KY, and Vonda Ingersoll of Ohio.  Kay was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren.  She adored those smiling faces of Kevin, Gunner, Mikelle, Marissa, Reagan, Robert, Gabby, Levi, and Gezaya, and one great-granddaughter, Novalee.  Kay is also survived by a host of other family, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her!

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Sardis Old Regular Baptist Church at Delbarton, WV with Bro. Jimmy Fields officiating.  Burial followed in the Buskirk Cemetery at Buskirk, KY.  

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 beginning at 5:00 P.M. at the church.
