Joyce I. Spradlin, loving wife, mother, and mamaw, 80, of Williamson, WV passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born November 11, 1942 in Paintsville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Henry K. and Ruby Daniels Ward.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Lynn Burton Spradlin, and a sister, Cyndia Ward.
She was a former teacher at the Ben Creek Grade School and was a well known seamstress in the area having made uniforms for little league and cheerleaders as well as many costumes.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherri Spradlin (Ralph Copley) of Wayne County, WV and Kimberly Anne Spradlin of Williamson, WV, one sister, Sandy (Ted) Akers of Williamson, WV, her grandchildren, Jessica Varney of Williamson, WV, Joshua Spradlin of Louisville, KY, Jeremy Varney of Louisville, KY, and Kristy Gavlinski of Ransom, KY, her great grandchildren, Christopher Varney of Murfreesboro, TN who was like her son, Gregory Canterbury of Murfreesboro, TN, Braden and Hailee Marian of Mingo County, WV, and Gabriel Varney, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A special “Thank You” to Christian Help for always taking her out when she wanted.
Private family services will be held.
