Judy Lea Neace, aged 81, passed away with family by her side at Pikeville Medical Center on January 29, 2024, following a long illness. Judy was born on May 11, 1942, in Matewan, WV, to the late Charles and Dixie Hubbard. On June 6, 1962, she married her beloved husband, the late James Neace. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by daughters Sherri Hughes, Christi Ashley, and Kelli Neace, grandson Christopher Hughes, and brother Charles Hubbard.
Previously, Judy was employed as a Nursing Assistant at South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital and later as a private caregiver. A true caretaker at heart, Judy passionately dedicated her life to her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love. She can be honored by remembering 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: “ Love is patient, love is kind, it isn’t jealous, it doesn’t brag, it isn’t arrogant, it isn’t rude, it doesn’t seek its own advantage, it isn’t irritable, it doesn’t keep a record of complaints, it isn’t happy with injustice, but it is happy with the truth. Love puts up with all things, trusts in all things, hopes for all things, and endures all things.”
She is survived by her daughter Randi Neace, son Jamie Neace, grandchildren Rick Ashley, Leslie Ashley, Michael (Jillian) Neace, Nikki Neace, Kaci (John) New, Allison Tincher, Shannon (Alex) Morris, Sarah Ryan, and Emily Ryan; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Grace Ann Childers and Bernie Hubbard, as well as many special family friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Hatfield Funeral Chapel in Toler, KY, with visitation to be held beginning at 12:00 pm. Judy will be laid to rest beside her late husband at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, following the service.
