Larry Harris Obituary

Larry Dale Harris, 71, of Freeburn, KY passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at his home.  Born February 25, 1949 at Thacker, WV, he was the son of the late Oliver and Virginia Gertrude Jude Harris.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Wilma Casey, Mable Crum, Luther Harris, Curtis Harris, Jimmy Harris, Franklin Harris, Barbara Harris, and Penny Harris.

Larry was a retired coal miner, a member of the U.M.W.A., and a member of the Church of Christ at Phelps, KY.

Survivors include his loving wife, Charlene Baker Harris of Freeburn, KY, his children, Michelle (Sam) Daugherty of New Market, TN, Teresa (Cletis) Kellione of Whitesville, WV, and David Harris of Lexington, KY; his siblings, Opie Harris of Phelps, KY, Oliver "Buddy" (Jean) Harris of Matewan, WV, and Bessie Dixon of Red Jacket, WV; his grandchildren, Savannah (Gabe) Bostic, Grant (Tori) Kellione, Garrett Daugherty, Parker Kellione, Samantha "Sammi" Daugherty, Skylar Harris, Gage Harris, and Victoria Kellione; a great-grandson, Nix Kellione; sisters-in-law, Wanda Plaster, Barbara Harris, and Bonnie Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 health regulations, a private family viewing was held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 12:00-1:00 pm at the funeral home chapel, at which time a procession departed to the Harris Cemetery at #11 Hollow, Thacker, WV  where a graveside service was held with Bro. David Stratton officiating and burial following.
