Obituary
Lloyd “Midge” Thacker, 69, of Owingsville, KY formerly of Hardy, KY passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at his home. Born February 25, 1953 in Mingo County, WV, he was the son of the late Homer and Neva Hopkins Thacker.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Daryel Blankenship, 3 brothers, Ronald, Jack, and Randy Thacker, and a daughter-in-law, Rena Thacker.
He was a retired coal miner of 25 years in Eastern Kentucky.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia Blankenship; his children, Anita (Tilden) Smith, Karen Bateman, Sara (John) Toney, Neva (Michael) May, Lloyd Mitchell Thacker, Crystal (Henry) Davis, Mildred Whitt, and Gail Suiter; 2 special sisters, Brenda (Ronnie) Tincher and Sandy (Dill Pickle) Jewell; a special brother, Frankie Thacker; 15 grandchildren, Paige Smith, Charlotte Dotson, Nikki Sanders, Trish Leach, Tiffany and Anita Estepp, Shawnda Hatfield, Lorrie Armitage, Makayla and Madison Stigall, Kileigh Thacker, Sean and Mikaela Dingess, and Katelynn and William Whitt; 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Matt Runyon speaking. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
