Lois Virginia Mahon

Lois Virginia Mahon, 80, longtime resident of Smith Towers in Matewan, WV passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  Born May 16, 1944 in Suffolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Raleigh L. and Donnie V. Riddick Ellis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Jeanette Ellis Marshall, her brother, Clinton L. Ellis, and an infant brother who died at birth.

Lois was a homemaker, loved music and when her health allowed she often attended the Delbarton Opry House and the Singing in the Park at Chief Logan.  She attended the Matewan Missionary Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her son, Michael Dorsel (Cindy) Mahon of Beech Creek, WV, her grandson, Cody (Hannah) Mahon of Beech Creek, WV, a great-grandson, Marston Mahon, and a host of friends.

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation for family and friends to gather for a time of remembrance will be from 6-9 pm Monday, August 5, 2024 at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY.
