Michael Scott “Scotty” Pinkerton, 19, of Williamson, WV tragically passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Radnor, OH. Born July 4, 2006 in Huntington, WV, he was the son of Carrie Pinkerton and the late Ryan Looney.
In addition to his father, Scotty was also preceded in death by his aunt, Magon Patton, his brother by choice whom he passed with, Breyden Floyd. Scotty and Breyden shared the greatest friendship and brotherhood since Scotty was a baby. They did everything together, from wrestling any chance they could, to doing the most crazy adventures, and was each other’s ride or die. They will still be together forever in Heaven. Also preceding were his paternal grandparents, Keith and Jeannie Looney, and his maternal great-grandparents, Darrell and Mary Burgess and Albert and Estelline Sartin.
Scotty graduated in 2024 and was just starting to figure life out.
Survivors include his mother, Carrie Pinkerton (Brent Lycans) of Summersville, WV, 2 brothers, Cameron Brinager and Donavan Pinkerton; 2 sisters, Trinity Hignite and Charity Hignite; maternal grandparents, David Pinkerton of Phoenix, AZ and Kelly Burgess of Steptown; Kermit, WV; paternal grandparents, Bob and Pam Hignite; uncle, David (Kayla) Pinkerton of Belfry, KY, aunt, Shellie (Temo) Garcia of Dahlonega, GA, 11 cousins, Shyla Blackburn, Tyler Bear, Jayden Patton, Narriaha Patton, Shelby Patton, Gavin Pinkerton, Berkley Pinkerton, Isabella Garcia, and Oliver Pinkerton. Also surviving is a host of other family and friends.
Family and friends will gather for a time of remembrance and a celebration of Scotty’s life on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY.
On behalf of Scotty’s family, they would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who has reached out to them during this time. We would also ask for everyone to continue to keep them, the Floyd family, and the Kroft family in your thoughts and prayers.
